Webber + Studio Architects
Emaar, a major international developer located in Dubai, U.A.E. who was responsible for the development of the current tallest building in the world, The Burj Dubai, commissioned Webber + Studio to design twelve villas for a new upscale residential project to be located in downtown Dubai, called Dubai HIlls Estates.
The villas ranged from 5,000 sf to 25,000 sf and backed up to a golf course green. The villas varied in program, ranging from 4 bedrooms plus servants quarters to 7 bedrooms plus servants quarters. Most had three levels, with a garage underground and generous amenities, including waterfalls, fitness rooms with saunas, multiple living areas and kitchens, game rooms, in-home theaters and large exterior terraces.
Shown to the left is an example design of one of the smaller villas designed by Webber + Studio.
While we had strict programmatic requirements, our design innovation occured in the plan arrangements and exterior expressions, which were considered extensively to bring simplicity and elegance to a large and complex program.
