Fairview House

Central Austin homes are much sought-after and also, oftentimes, have much to be desired in functionality. Many of them are quite literally from a different time, whether it be a 1950's bungalow with chopped up rooms and no garage, or a 1960's ranch home with tiny closets and awkward bathrooms. They are diamonds in the rough. They, by and large, need a little to a lot of TLC to bring them into the modern era to fulfill the functions of our modern lives.

Luckily, the clients who purchased the Fairview House saw the potential in a chopped-up 1950's home in Highland Park. This home was far from a dog to start - boasting a killer backyard with a large swimming pool and ample green space for their three children and their dog to run and play. In the 1990's, an addition was added to the back of the home, creating an additional living area next to the pool, but it was very cut off from the rest of the house, and further blocked the pool from the main living areas.

The house had functioned well in the 1950's and perhaps again in the 1990's...but in 2016, the house needed to evolve once again to meet the needs of a modern family.
